The sustainable way to the historical village Kirkjubø to see the old churches and the oldest house in the Faroe Islands, while you keep in shape during you vacation.
You cycle from the city centre and pas the eastern district of Tórshavn, and across a mountain pass, 190m above sea level, where you will have a panorama view to the western and southern islands. In Kirkjubø you can visit the oldest church on the Faroe Islands and the ruins of the medieval Cathedral, as well as the oldest continuously inhabited wooden house in Europe. While there, you will enjoy the view over the islands of Sandoy, Hestur, Koltur and Vágar. Our route back takes us through the hillside village Velbastað before sliding you way back to Tórshavns centre.
