Description

A hike with a great view over the high islet Tindhólmur, the village of Gásadalur and the beautiful and famous waterfall Múlafossur

The view of Gásadalur is one of the most photographed places in the Faroe Islands, and once you see it you will understand why. Gásadalur is home to the beautiful waterfall Múlafossur.

Gásadalur is located on the edge of the fjord of Mykines, surrounded by the highest mountains on Vágar. Árnafjall towers to a height of 722 meters to the north, and Eysturtindur to the east is 715 metres high. The village has been one of the most isolated villages in the Faroe Islands until a tunnel in 2004 connected the village with the rest of the island’s road network.

This hike trip begins in the valley about three kilometres west of the village of Bøur.

The first stretch of the path is steep and runs close to the edge of the mountain, but depending on the weather you get an outstanding view over Sørvágsfjørður, Tindhólmur, Gáshólmur and Mykines.
